Velocity

Reflection - Recently, I have been doing very well. I have been understanding a majority of the content we are learning. If I am confused about something, and others call me, "bad" at a topic, I don't agree with it and try to improve. I can make better decisions on how to resolve my feelings on failure with trying to improve on the specific topic I am struggling on, now that we have diagnoser.com, we can improve our knowledge on physics from home. I will try to in the future study homework or go online on my own time to help myself understand topics I am confused about.

I Improved!

I got all 3s! How has your thinking changed? My thinking has changed to how energy is transferred and how to represent them, I tend to think on how I can solve the problem and not just stop working . What questions do you have now that you could've awnsered? I could've awnsered how to represent a change in amount of energy.

Getting Stuck In Life

Blog Post #4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsjj_-5RlkI&feature=youtu.be Can you think of a time you were like a person stuck on an escalator? Yes, I can, there was a time in my 8th-grade algebra class where I didn't understand what we were learning, so I just gave up. Was there something once you tried and you were able to do it despite not believing you could? Yes, last week I did my math on KahnAcademy and I didn't think I could even get a 75% on an assignment, but I was persistent and achieved the goal. Why do we have a tendency to think down upon ourselves? We have a tendency to do this because at certain times we lack self- confidence and are afraid to take risks. How can you learn to recognize these moments where you get "stuck on an escalator" and what can you do to fight the tendency to rely on others to solve our problems? We could ask ourselves how this problem could be solved, and typically you can solve most problems with bei

Energy Is Confusing

Blog Post #3 Reflect on our model of energy so far. Our model of energy can be shown through a state diagram. This is confusing to understand at first, but it describes how energy is transferred and what is affecting the energy. Some of the things we thought we knew have been called in to question the last few classes. Is it really true? For me, I'd have to explain why I believe certain types of energy are being transferred into other energy sources, or if I have to explain why it is leaving my state diagram. Usually, I am correct in my predictions, but sometimes people can reason why they are correct, and I agree with them. What evidence exists to help us understand what is going on? Simple observations can be made, but sometimes we have to make predictions. For example, we can know that kinetic energy is being transferred into sound energy because we can hear the gears grinding together in the wind-up toy. Have any of the activities given you evidence to supp

Why You Need to Fail

Make sure to watch this YouTube video  before reading this blog. "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you are right."  My mindset is a growth mindset, this encourages me to keep trying to learn something and get better at the topic if I'm not understanding it. I usually don't avoid asking a "stupid question" because I think people with think of me in a bad way. This is because I think if I have a question, other people probably also do. This idea of being the smartest in the class relates to me being my self-worth. This is because I also am a very competitive type of person, and I feel more self-confidence if I am top of the class. I can avoid this mindset by thinking that there will always be someone better at something than me, making me push further and harder.

Whats In the Pipe?

Model Of the Pipe We made 3 models shown above We only had 1 model that worked like the tube, and we only discussed the failed tubes, but we will never know what is actually inside the tube. We can always have as much evidence that proves something is inside the tube, but we'll never be able to actually see it. It doesn't matter how the tube is specifically made if our models work very similar to the tube. The analogy that the tube is alot like the universe is very true because we'll never be able to know for sure how the universe was made because no one was there, and there is very little evidence.  I expect from this class that I will get a better understanding of science, and how the world works around us. I plan to accomplish an A average grade, but also understand the topic and not just, "Remember the things written down on the whiteboard"
